Cloaking policy
Wherever possible, SGLBA aims to provide members and visitors with cloaking facilities in which to deposit personal belongings while visiting a venue.
Please note that the following terms and conditions apply to acceptance of any items for cloaking. These terms and conditions are in addition to any other terms and conditions that may be specified by the venue operator.
1. Criteria
The operator(s) of the cloakroom may refuse certain items for cloakroom storage on the basis of weight, quantity or contents in order to ensure the safe and efficient operation of cloakroom facilities. Items (including dangerous goods such as chemicals or weapons) that pose a potential safety or security threat will not be accepted.
Valuable items should kept on your person at all times and should not be deposited for cloaking.
2. Unclaimed items
You must retrieve all items deposited for cloaking when you leave the premises. Any items unclaimed will be noted and held for a period of 28 days. It is your responsibility to contact SGLBA or the venue operator to retrieve the item. If you do not retrieve your item after that time, then SGLBA reserves the right to dispose of it as and how it considers necessary.
3. Acceptance of risk and disclaimer of liability
While the cloakroom operator(s) take reasonable measures to ensure items accepted for cloaking are secure, your items are always left at your own risk. In particular, you must keep your cloakroom ticket or receipt in a secure place.
The cloakroom operator(s) and/or the SGLBA does not accept any responsibility or liability if any item accepted for cloaking is:
- retrieved from the cloakroom by another person holding the corresponding ticket or receipt; or
- lost, damaged or destroyed.
